2007年1月16日 at 4:07 PMI live in Tokyo area and I do have typical Japanese bathroom and I want to replace ceramic bathtub and also walls (very similar to first picture under your products section). Do you or do you know anyone who can install this for me? Also, I don’t seems to find email address and showroom address in your web page.

2007年1月17日 at 12:10 PMDear Don,

2007年2月3日 at 4:03 PMCan the tubs be placed outside?

2007年2月6日 at 7:15 PMDear Chris:
There is no problem in keeping the tub outside, anyway if you live in a temperate area, direct sun exposure may cause dryness, warping, cracking.
You should cover or shade the tub, expecially when is empty and not used.

2007年4月17日 at 4:37 AMDear MH:
The main points are:
1) ensure a good ventilation.
2) use toungue and groove jointed planks for wall paneling. These will avoid humidity penetrating in the wall
3) finish the planks with a waterproofing treatment. (even if this was not done traditionally) We use a natural oil stain for good performance and natural look.
The structure should also be in hinoki. Vapour barrier doesn`t help much as the humidity comes from inside, in this case.
Sorry we do not have cad details. Refer to your carpenter or construction company for the details.
Best luck!

2007年4月17日 at 4:39 AMThank you for your comments in the last email.
I understood the vapour barrier would not be to much affective and agree that finishing planks with a waterproofing treatment such a natural oil could improve resistance agins moisture, (just worry hinki paneling would lost natural smell). I’ll talk the matter with general constructor.
If you have any company brochure of your product I would be happy have a one for reference. By the way your web is very interesting. First time I could read about hinki in english.

2007年4月17日 at 4:56 AMDear MH:
Using oil to finish wall paneling may reduce the aroma, which is going to fade overtime anyways.
If you use a hinoki tub, aroma is brought back by warm water.
Back to paneling, another option which we often use for walls is to employ canadian yellow cedar, treated with natural oil such as Kredezeit.
This is the most recommended way to avoid blackening.
I am sorry, since all our tubs are made to order, we do not have a company brochure for the moment.
Please refer to the material on line.
Best regards.

I purchase a Hinoki Soaking Tub from a Manufacture here in the USA and are having problems with it. I am wondering if you know of anyone in this area (California) that works on these tubs. We cannot get the manufacture to respond to our calls. Hoping you can help. Thanks.

2007年4月17日 at 4:59 AMDear John:
I am sorry, I do not have contacts in the USA as instalations are always made by the client`s builder.
Try to contact a carpenter or a furniture maker. I hope you`ll solve your problem.
