Hello, what is the price in £ sterling for 1 bottle? It looks like £86. That can’t be right surely?
hinoki2019年6月7日 at 7:56 PM
Yes, the price is correct.
But I have only about 1.5 liters of each type.

Do you use the hinoki oil on ofuros to keep the wood in good shape or “seasoned”?
hinoki2019年6月8日 at 8:00 AM
Yes, it can also be used for this purpose: to add shine and aroma to an aged wooden bathtub.

What is the difference in uses between both oils?
hinoki2019年6月10日 at 7:48 AM
No difference in use but there is difference in material/aroma:
1) the young trees oil is made with hinoki from planted forests (about 70 years old) This is the common quality available on the market even though we use the DSB quality (highest purity)
2) the special reserve is made with old growth lumber (usually more than 300 years old, to stay on the safe side I am labelling it 250+ years old). This is an original product and to my information we are the only producers in the world. The aroma is slightly less intense but more complex and deep. As you can imagine it is difficult to explain with words…!
